Diplomat Expelled From Canada For Threatening Family of Conservative MP Attended Events with Liberal Politicians
A Chinese diplomat that was recently expelled from Canada has been spotted in the past endorsing Liberal politicians. A Canadian Security Intelligence Services (CSIS) document secretly leaked to the Globe and Mail in early May outlined a series of threats made against members of Canadian parliament which targeted not only them, but also their families overseas living in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for potential sanctions. It is not unusual for the families of dissidents and lawmakers to become targets of detention and harassment in by the communist regime in China.
“This effort is almost certainly meant to make an example of this MP and deter others from taking anti-PRC positions,” the classified intelligence document read.
This stunning revelation, which only came to light due to whistleblower leaks within our national security spy agency, kicked off a series of events. One of the MPs mentioned by the unnamed source was identified as Conservative MP Michael Chong, a parliamentarian with family in Hong Kong. The diplomat that reportedly targeted him and his family was Mr. Zhao Wei. Michael Chong has stated that he was unaware of the threats being levelled against him in a statement he released shortly after the allegations were revealed. “The government did not inform me that a diplomat was targeting my family, nor did the government take any action to expel the diplomat responsible for orchestrating this intimidation campaign,” it read.
This rightly spurred several summonses before House of Commons committees to determine how the information could possibly have been missed by the Liberal federal government.
Jody Thomas, National Security Advisor to Justin Trudeau, said in committee that in 2021, prior to the federal election, the memo was sent to deputy ministers of Public Safety, National Defence, and Global Affairs. She claimed to not have seen it because she was on vacation. It went into a “black hole” and wasn’t distributed through the correct channels, she explained.
“It was not briefed. I told you there was a flaw in the process, we’ve corrected that.”
David Morrison, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign and Defence Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister, didn’t seem to think the oversight was particularly concerning. In committee, he tried to excuse away the grave error: “It was an information memo, not an action memo.” Such differentiation between memos is not, to anyone’s knowledge, an actual real thing. The questioning MP, Conservative Michael Cooper, was stunned. “You said in your testimony, ‘The system functioned properly.’ How can you say that?”
Bill Blair, President of the Privy Council and Minister of Emergency Preparedness, wholly blamed CSIS for the miss. Ditto for the Minister of Public Safety, Marco Mendicino. No one took responsibility for the overlooked memo that resulted in a Chinese diplomat being expelled from our country, but everyone desperately wanted to find the whistleblower that leaked it to the press. Justin Trudeau vowed to go after the anonymous individual(s), even though it was their information that triggered a special investigation into foreign inference in Canada.
In any event, despite the Sergeant Shultz “I know nothing” inexusable defences, Wei was unceremoniously declared a “persona non-grata” in Canada by the Liberal Party while under immense public pressure, and was expelled shortly after the story was released, although very little else was said by the sitting government on the matter.
“Canada has decided to declare persona non grata, Mr. Zhao Wei,” a statement from Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly’s office read. “This decision has been taken after careful consideration of all factors at play.” The decision was actually taken after a deafening public outcry gave them little to no choice on the matter, but OK.
The disgraced diplomat often accompanied Consul General Han Tao to community events prior to his expulsion. Tao was implicated in the Han Dong scandal after allegations came to light that Han Dong had been in contact with and advising the high-ranking Toronto consulate official. Dong did not deny being in contact, claiming it was standard practice for any MP. Justin Trudeau’s office said it was unaware of these meetings. Dong however denied acting as “backchannel” for the PRC. Han Dong is now suing Global News and several reporters for defamation.
There are indications that Wei heavily favoured the Liberal Party, although he crossed paths with all walks of politicians, and was active in their circles. A 2019 meeting showed the Chinese official with Liberal MPs Geng Tan and Majid Jowhari. The Inauguration Dinner of the Ninth Council of the Canadian Hebei Association attended by Wei was also lucky enough to receive a letter of well-wishes from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: “Geng Tan read a congratulatory letter from Justin Trudeau,” the article reads.
Former Progressive Conservative MPP Vincent Ke, and Liberals Mary Ng and Shaun Chen, along with former Conservative MP Bob Saroya mixed and mingled with the ousted representative at another 2019 gala. Ke stepped down from the PC caucus after it was alleged that he assisted in foreign election interference, and is also now suing Global News along with Han Dong for $5.5 million dollars for defamation. “The baseless and sensational allegations of his involvement in an election interference scheme, on behalf of the government of China to harm the Canadian public is false and fans the flames of anti-Asian sentiments,” his statement of claim asserts.
At an event in 2020, Consul General Han Tao endorsed Liberal MP Majid Jowhari. A video posted by Chinese Canadian News Media (加拿大华文融媒体新闻网), a media organization linked to overseas United Front Work Department members, shows that Wei can again be found lurking in the audience in the background. Han Tao thanks MP Jowhari for his support of the Chinese community and for his work with the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto in the clip, while Jowhari dutifully smiles and nods his head.
Wei was again spotted with Liberal MPs Shaun Chen and Jean Yip as recently as January 2023. Mary Ng sent her regards as she was unfortunately unable to attend. Former Liberal Michael Chan (who was previously investigated by CSIS) was also present at the party. Chan has also launched defamation suit against reporters and CSIS based on allegations that he has colluded with PRC diplomats. It would seem we have a pattern here.
Another Globe story revealed that CSIS has been keeping tabs on Zhao Wei for years prior to him being blacklisted. "Mr. Zhao had also been observed meeting in Toronto with a number of constituency staffers for Liberal MPs, including an assistant for International Trade Minister Mary Ng. Mr. Zhao asked some of those aides to keep their MPs away from pro-Taiwan events,” the article noted.
Why all of this information only came out after the last federal election had concluded - despite being circulated through various Liberal departments - is anybody’s guess. I have a few myself.
Well, staffers would have to meet up from time to time with Wei if they’re going to get our Chinese diplomats together with their Liberal picks in person, right? Oddly enough, none of the individuals that connected with Wei have thus far strongly spoken out publicly about the threats being levelled against Conservative MP Michael Chong, although many of them have backed the MP suing journalists, and why would they? He was, after all, literally in their corner.
I just saw you tagged in Shaun Rickards Twitter. He is really going to bat for the man who died because he was refused an organ transplant operation as he was unvaccinated. Garnet Harper was the brave man who has helped to identify the mentally deranged people in Canada. He was given capital punishment for refusing an experimental vaccine even though he was immune compromised with a failing kidney and kidney problems caused by the Covid vaccine has been identified as a adverse event to the covid vaccines. I never knew you had a substack. Sleeping with Giants is a fitting name. Special rebel rappoteur now that's classic poking fun at the conflict of interest special rapporteur who quit. Did you scare him off with your reporting? I read Omar Alghebra is connected to a crooked lawyer of Brampton William Gilmour who helped cover up a huge drug trafficking operation and invedtment fraud scheme money laundeting from crooked USA Presidents and other politicians and Omar Alghebra as MP of Erindale wrote 2 letters that are in the Ontario courts on behalf of a whistle blower and he might have got his cushy job as Minister of Transportation to cover up. A real scandal in the making all in the Ontario Superior Court. It's been talked about among lawyers who actually searched and found the documents and story of cover up and murders of anyone who connected the Clintons and Bush family to this drug trafficking with the CIA and this American Financial Group that defrauded Canadians out of $43 million. I think this story is worth attention. Honest cops confirm the drug plane seized wasn't a sting operation but rather the actual traffickers which was dirty FBi dirty RCMP dirty cops in Montana dirty friend of Stephen Harper Mike Huxtable all connected to the dirty of America. .
Appears Johawri is against a foreign agent registry. I guess his alleged ties to Iranian terrorist government and accepting bribes might be the reason. He makes his rounds with Chinese as well. As for Bill Majcher the former RCMP arrested for spy activities or whatever the crooks want to call it to avoid their Chinese agent interference ties do you believe the RCMP caught committing a bombing of an oilfield at the request of the Alberta government Energy agency and arresting 2 farmers and holding them without bail yet they committed the crime as credible? . Ask how many times has the government gotten the RCMP to plant stuff or bomb stuff or set up people and blame it on Canadians especially those who file complaints. The Coutts 4 sounds like a set up by Rcmp at the request of the government. Don't worry the RCMP admitted that they bombed the oil field in Alberta.
The freezing of bank accounts falls in the same realm as the firebombing an oilfield or rcmp setting their own cruisers fire and blaming others.
Bill Majcher did an affidavit on behalf of the English family in Tofino BC who had their campground firebombed by domestic terrorists and then stolen from them so hmmmmmm were the RCMP involved there too at the request of the BC government ??? That connection of Bill Majcher to crooked judges crooked lawyers is now central to whether Majcher was set up and the second RCMP arrested his name has come out in people outing corruption attached to this crooked justice system. I will have to search to find his name.
Are the cockcroach lawyers involved in set ups too as was the case in the the English family saga??
